Every creature, be it a human being or a youkai, has one of the two dominant elements of Yin and Yang (Onmyou). Yin is passive/female/negative/dark, while Yang is active/male/positive/light.To simplify, let's say that Yin is "Omega" and Yang is "Alpha" in the Omegaverse theme. Enmei himself is a man with a dominant Yin body. Due to the nature of his body, it is easier for him to absorb negative energy from around him to strengthen himself, especially for his poison whip. A small village where Takatsukasa Grandma brought a year-old Enmei to hide him so as not to get killed by the Takatsukasa clan.But, after their grandma passed away, Enmei, who was still eight years old, could not get food without work. So, most people in the village forced him to do some hard work with small pieces of bread as compensation.Enmei never complained even a word as long as he could eat daily. He also often gets bullied by the kids because of his beautiful face.Until a young man comes to the village.Oukikubanagi, known as Takatsukasa Kouen's shikigami, has been trying to find Enmei's presence, which is hidden by Grandma. After he comes and observes how Enmei is treated by the villagers, he tries to avenge everyone who touches his master's beloved son.-Then, someday, some villagers disappeared one by one. There's nothing weird in Enmei's sight on that because since Ouki came, his life has improved; he got more food and snacks. This man didn't even do anything strange while together with him. But, the mystery of lost people is getting bigger until an incomplete dead body is found inside one of some houses. Then, one by one, more wrecked corpses were found more in everywhere.The head of the villager is terrified and says a youkai ate his villagers, and then he remembers everything has begun since that man came here—the man who takes care of Enmei. A group of villagers carrying torches arrived at the young man's house. They had Enmei tied up and were dragging him away, believing he had help from the young man.Ouki initially intended to greet them with a smile, but upon seeing Enmei's numerous wounds, including those on his face, he changed his mind. Suddenly, Ouki transformed into his original youkai form, which was larger than a typical village house. He angrily demanded to know who had caused Enmei's injuries. The villagers, trembling with fear, started blaming each other until they lost control.After the Youkai went on a rampage, Enmei hugged its leg to stop it. Upon seeing the wounded Enmei clinging to its leg, the Youkai reverted to its human form and demanded Enmei be offered as a sacrifice in exchange for the village's safety.The village chief was pleased that Enmei was useful as a sacrifice, and eventually, Enmei was taken to the red-light district by Ouki, with the chief's approval.The village chief was unaware of the situation, as Ouki assured him that the village was safe and that he wouldn't harm it.-Nonetheless, Ouki had not mentioned that the village would be safe from other Youkai.-In Ouki's arms, little Enmei, exhausted, had a beautiful dream for the first time, unknowingly that a fire was raging in the village behind him.

YAMI District is a red-light district in the mountainous area of Kyoto. Not different from other red-light districts, this district specializes in selling various kinds of prostitution day and night. The only thing that makes it different from other places is that this red-light district is only for Youkai who want to satisfy their sexual desires.Oukikubanagi is the owner of the largest castle in this area, Crysant-Castle. The castle has a variety of Geisha ranks, from the lowest level to the highest, which can only be booked a year in advance.He brought Enmei here for him to take care of until adulthood. The place where Enmei grows every Parade Night.Every Parade Night (Hyakki Yagyou), when most youkai go berserk and lose control, Enmei, who lives in the red light district for youkai, has to stay away. His identity as a yin human made him the easiest target.His yin body is capable of emitting a magical scent that provokes Youkai to do undesirable things.One day, when he was too late to return to the hermitage, he was caught by a youkai and was nearly raped. Fortunately, the tattoo Ouki gave him made him easy to track, and he was eventually found by Ouki before it was too late. Ruthlessly, Ouki chopped off the Youkai's head and displayed it outside the castle to warn others not to touch Enmei.The Hermitage proved to be the safest place to go and hide. It was here that he lived with the people he considered to be his own family. The destruction of the Red District was caused by an earthquake that created a 'Rift' that connects to a world where corrupt and evil creatures can cause Kegare.Youkai affected by Kegare feel excruciating pain. This causes them to lose control even more, and they start slaughtering whoever is in front of them.With the help of Ouki and his subordinates, Tsubune, Enmei made his way to the hermitage, slaughtering anyone in his path. He left behind Ouki, who was also fighting against the youkai affected by Kegare. In his despair, he also accepted the possibility that Ouki might have died, leaving him behind.

However, Kirin's spiritual power was not very strong, so the Takatsukasa clan often looked down on her. To help Kirin avoid feeling pressured, Kouen built a separate house for her, away from the main Clan. Kouen also often asked Ouki to be Kirin's companion during her pregnancy with Enmei inside.At the time of Enmei's birth, Kirin had a transfer of the last of her spiritual power into his body. She predicted that something terrible was going to happen, and she wanted Enmei to survive. As a result, Kouen decided to break the shikigami connection between Ouki and himself and to transfer the possession of the shikigami to Enmei.A week later, Kirin accompanied Kouen to become a Hitobashira, and the two of them died together.

Based on his memories of Kouen's exercises, he taught him how to cultivate his spiritual power. He also provided Enmei with a kind of knowledge about the world of psychics and youkai. He appointed several teachers for his academic studies and provided a proper place for his masters' child to live.After Enmei became a teenager, he reluctantly gave Enmei a track Enmei wherever he went for his safety. In addition, Tsubune has forced Enmei to cast a spell to sever their relationship as shikigami, which has made it impossible to locate Ouki's whereabouts.A few months after Enmei has gotten used to his new school, Tsubune has suddenly revealed Ouki's whereabouts to Enmei. Ouki is regaining his spiritual strength and cultivating on a sacred mountain somewhere. Although Ouki is not able to visit and meet Enmei in person at the moment, he has transferred a part of his soul to Tsubune, so that he can "see" Enmei through Tsubune.One day, when Enmei is stronger and has graduated from Setsugekka, Ouki will reunite with him in person.
